Formerly the Control Systems Group

28th Conference of the IAPCT      Oct. 11-13, 2018

This year's conference will be held in the heart of the Northwestern University campus in Evanston, Illinois

at the Garret-Evangelical Theological Seminary

Dear Prospective Attendees,

Scientists and scholars who will be presenting and in attendance have spent many years applying the principles of Perceptual Control Theory (PCT) in their own work and personal lives. The general consensus is that PCT represents a paradigm shift in understanding how and why control systems, both living and artificial, behave - they behave not to respond to environmental stimuli, but to control their own perceptions of the environment in which they exist. The implications of PCT are far ranging and that is why we have such a diversity represented in our attendance. If you are new to PCT, we hope that you will consider opening your hearts and minds to the new world that PCT offers to unfold for you as it has for these long time supporters of the life's work of William T. Powers. Please consider taking advantage of the many years of cumulative understanding of this great work that they represent. Northwestern University Archives has recently completed cataloguing the papers of Bill Powers, as he was known by his friends and followers, and these papers will be available in their entirety the day before the conference on October 11 in the archives room of the Deering Library. We welcome your curiosity and questions and hope to see you there!

Sincerely,

Allie Powers
